Traffic & LBJ Reconstruction
The massive reconstruction of LBJ Freeway is scheduled has started.
It is due for completion in 2016. Half of the $2+ Billion cost will come
from the private sector, who are paying for the higher-speed flexible
toll lanes and receiving back the toll revenues for 50+ years. Other
lanes will be free.
The Department of Transportation conducted 26 large-scale community
forum type meetings between 1996 and 2004. Many changes were
made to the plans to satisfy the concerns of Dallas businesses and
residents in our area.
