Dallas Restaurant Review:

Ziziki's Restaurant & Bar
probably has the best Greek food in Dallas.  It rises above
anything Greek I've ever had outside of Greece

SETTING  -  A very pretty (and very popular) little restaurant in the courtyard of the Travis
Walk building in the hip Knox-Henderson area.

APPETIZERS  - Every time I try a new appetizer, it becomes my new favorite.  Right now, my
favorites are the Mediterranean Pita Bread topped with tomatoes, Greek herbs, feta cheese,
basil, and olive oil; and also the Dolmades: rolls of grape leaves stuffed with seasoned rice,
served on a bed of marinated onions.  That pair alone can make a fine lunch.

ENTREES  - The Spanakopita is wonderful: paper thin layers of crispy dough topping blocks of
baked spinach, sweet onions, and feta.  I love the Gyro plates, sliced leg of lamb, highly
seasoned and served on pita with their signature ziziki (creamy cucumber) sauce.  They have
excellent Souvlakis – medallions of meat and vegetables grilled on a skewer and accompanied
by pita bread, roasted new potatoes, and onion marinade (your choice of lamb, chicken, salmon,
or straight veg).  Good selection of salads, too.

WINE  -  Ziziki has a very good and reasonably priced wine list.  They also offer an amazing
number of wines by the glass – over 30 of them.

AMBIANCE  -  It's a cozy, narrow, rambling room with a long bar along one side – classic
Greek bistro.  The decor is relaxed and warm (not touristy Greek) with a European black-and-
white checkerboard floor.  It draws an eclectic crowd – business people, locals who live in the
nearby condos, and affluent Highland Park types.

PARKING  -  Parking can be tricky in this older part of town with all the restaurants and night
life, but Ziziki is in the courtyard of a building that has a free and easy parking garage
underneath.

BOTTOM LINE  -  You won't find better Greek food in Dallas than what you'll find at Ziziki.
