Santa Fe Restaurant Review:

La Casa Sena
restaurant is a Santa Fe classic with great food and wonderful courtyard dining (in season), right in the heart of downtown.

SETTING  -  From the Palace of the Governors on the square, walk half a block east past all the turquoise posts and the quaint little shops until you get to the almost-secret door to La Casa Sena, shown above.  Step through the door and into a beautiful, shady courtyard.

FOOD  -
Creative "New Southwestern".  Start with the black bean soup, a thick puree topped with crisp tortilla strips.  At lunch, if you can't decide what to get next, consider the "Sena Sampler".  Dinner is slightly fancier.  To see their menu, click here.  La Casa Sena also offers premium tequilas and margaritas.

AMBIANCE  -
From May to October, this is a fabulous place to have an "al fresco" lunch or Sunday brunch, cool and relaxing under an enormous 5-foot diameter cottonwood.  I have lingered over many a glass of wine or margarita at a late lunch here.  Come early or late, or be ready to wait.  For dinner, I'm usually inside, where the white-washed adobe interior is semi-upscale and the food steps up a notch, as well.

RESERVATIONS  -
Not imperative, but recommended.

BOTTOM LINE  - You can't beat La Casa Sena's courtyard dining -- good food + great atmosphere -- and the restaurant inside will not disappoint you, either.
