Daiquiri Dick's
New American

Puerto Vallarta Restaurant Review:

Daiquiri Dick's
(which is much more upscale than the name might suggest) has become a fixture in Puerto Vallarta.

SETTING  - The ground floor of a condominium building, right on the beach in Old Town, downtown P.V.  There is an elegant open-air dining room and also a great patio where you can see the surf.

FOOD  -
Dick's is American-owned, and the food is New American with a focus on seafood (but not exclusively).  There are also Italian flavors, like the wonderful Bruschetta (topped with diced avocado, feta cheese, and capers), and the Linguini Aglia y Olio (garlic & oil) topped with Mussels & Shrimp.  Entrees at dinner are $15-$30.  The margaritas are not large, but they're strong.  For more information on the menu, click here.

AMBIANCE  -
Daiquiri Dick's is kind of a California place -- spacious, contemporary, open-aired, and relaxed.  The name sounds like a beach bar (it's not), so leave the t-shirt and swimsuit at the hotel.  To find out more about the restaurant, click here.

RESERVATIONS  -
Recommended, especially at dinner.

BOTTOM LINE  -
Daiquiri Dick's is the kind of place you go back to.
