Puerto Vallarta Restaurant Review:

Burro's
is on my "must do" list in Puerto Vallarta.  In fact, I "must do" it more than once.

SETTING - Right on the beach on the southern end of Malecon, just south of the river
downtown.
Walk inside, and downtown disappears and you're at a rustic beach bar far away.

FOOD - This is a great place to drink and hang out, and the casual Mexican food (chips & salsa,
quesadillas, shrimp, carne asada, guacamole, etc.) is
maybe not gourmet, but it goes pretty well
with a margarita or a beer
.  And did I mention that this is a great place to drink?  They have
Happy Hour twice a day.  I get a bucket of 3 beers on ice for about $
5.  "National" drinks are
also cheaper (local booze, ask which ones).  An
d in my quest for the perfect margarita, I found
that Burro's version is a tall "double" (at least during their never-ending happy hours) and
strong!
I love this place!

AMBIANCE - On the sand.  I mean, the dining area under thatched roof is on the sand.   The
tables out in front, facing the surf, are on the sand.  The grill.  Everything.  You take your
sandals off and wiggle your toes in the sand.
It's laid back and you get great people watching,
the sight and sound of the surf crashing, rustic beach atmosphere right downtown, good
margaritas,
cold beer, and decent food.  Hang out here with your friends (or family, if you can't
ditch them).  The life of a beach bum.  What more could you want??

RESERVATIONS - R U kidding?

BOTTOM LINE - Cheap drinks, classic beach bar, great sunsets, right downtown.  I love
Burro's.
