Dallas Restaurant Review:

The food at Arcodoro / Pomodoro restaurant is some of the most authentic Italian cooking
you'll find in Dallas.

SETTING  - The fashionable (and expensive) Crescent Court complex on the edge of
downtown Dallas.

FOOD -  Pomodoro serves first-class, authentic Sardinian dishes (the exotic half-sister of
Italian), and they have many familiar Italian offerings, as well.  Their Ravioli Arcodoro won
1st Place at the World Ravioli Competition in Italy.  It consists of 3 half-moon shaped raviolis,
about 4" long, stuffed with seafood and ricotta cheese in a tasty ragu.  I also love the
Bruschetta and the Papardella Buttera pasta.  Pastas & risottos are $16-$20, entrees
$20-$30.  Less at lunch.   Cited as "Best Italian Restaurant" in the Dallas Observer.

WINE  -  Many, many pages of Italian wines - fine Italian wines - undoubtedly the most
extensive Italian list in town.  Arcodoro is serious about their Italian wines, and the familiar
California labels are barely seen.  You can't go wrong with their Italian wines by the glass,
either.  For a true Italian after-dinner drink, try a Limoncello -- lemon-flavored liqueur
served nearly-frozen in a small frosted martini glass with lemon slice.  You'll want another one.

AMBIANCE  -  Elegant interior - attractive clientele.  The service is silky-smooth.

Downside?  -  Some of my favorite dishes of yesteryear -- which were the best in town, in
my opinion -- have regrettably disappeared when they moved to their elegant new setting, but
the new menu is even more creative and impressive than the previous.

BOTTOM LINE  -  For a true Italian dining experience, Arcodoro/Pomodoro is a lot cheaper
than a trip to Italy.
